Good morning

I have probably bought this bit set 4 or 5x

I keep one in my car, one in my electrical bag, etc.

last night I needed to fix an Electrolux dryer and found it was held together by Robertson head screws and guess what isn't in that set?

Fortunately I found a Klein 11-in-1 so I didn't have to go buy one but can anyone recommend a bit set like that that includes common Robertson sizes?

thanks!

I loathe bit sets, there are a couple in my service truck and garage for the times I need the low clearance provided with a ratchet but I try to never touch them, every time I open one up the bit I want is missing. For Robertson, I have about four of these stashed around my place...

Or, take a few of the really goofy bits out of the set you already have and put Robbies in those spaces. It looks like there may even be empty holes to add more without removing anything, as well as Robertson bits in the top left corner.

Klein makes one with one 6" long shank and a set of #30 all security bits at Amazon or about $30. Amazon has a regular bit Klein add on that has #30 non security bits so that with the two you have #60 bits with both type in two matching blocks with every bit you could need.

Bits are consumables. Bit sets are awesome. I tend not to get too worked up over which brand. I might look at:
  • The TEKTON 37 piece 1/4 Inch Bit Driver and Bit Set with Case (DBH93101)
  • The Lee Valley "99-Piece Not-So-Common Bit Set"
  • PB Swiss, if I absolutely positively had to have the best and wasn't afraid to pay for it
  • Felo, if I had extra money and wanted a sweet bit and bit driver kit
But I would be just as likely to grab something from Performance tool or Tekz.

It's different if you have a SPECIFIC use case. E.g. I love Wera's hex-plus bits (the "flats" are slightly concave). Vessel has affordable JIS bits for your Japanese motorcycles. Proto has bits with ridges for damaged fasteners.

Actually, come to think of it, Wera's square bits also have that concave geometry. Why not try those?

That Lee Valley set looks awesome! I've bought from them before - great service and quality product. Have to bookmark that one!
