V10 Killer how do you like that compressor? Do you think it pushes enough cfm's to run a small blast cabinet?

I burn about a cord or so of oak in an air tight All Nighter stove with triple wall up through the roof and a ceiling fan to blow the warm air down from the upper level near the roof...crude, but effective...nothing like the radiating warmth of a wood stove in the winter...feels like the sun...perhaps you've sat up against a south facing wall on a bench in the winter with no breeze blowing...that's really nice.

Not to hijack, but santagary, you should look into one of the heat-a-lator (sp)boxes that the triple flue goes into that goes up near the ceiling? It reclaims the heat off of the flue pipe and has a built in fan. My ex-FIL had one on his airtight and it worked great.

I ran my heater a lot last month due to all my paint work. I find that my propane heaters use a very small amount of propane compared to the Electricity that they use (internal fans). The power bill is up $50 but the gas is up a blip, hardly noticeable.

A 60 dollar 220v construction heater heated a 20 x 20 I had that was insulated (not really well either with an uninsulated wood door) in -40. It will take quite a while to bring it up to temp though. In the past when it was all I had I'd use a 40,000 btu propane tank top heater to bring the temp up fast and then switch to electric. The electric gives off no fumes or toxic gasses and is very safe. At one time I kept a 14 x 24 heated full time with one for 5 years. I still use that heater from time to time in the corner of my 28 x 44 farthest from the furnace when it's really cold and it is still a great heater.

I use a ProCom propane heater in a well insulated garage and am happy with it. Its supposedly a high efficiency model from Northern Tool. I can still smell gas every now and then, but the CO detector does not go off.

My suggestion is a couple of the cheap milk house heaters if you have 3 circuits in the garage. Any 120v heater is going to about max out a circuit.

If you are short of circuits then substitute one of the catalytic Mr. Heaters they do a very good job.

Spend the left over cash on insulation.
