My garage was a mess, concrete was never sealed and the 40 year old slab was dusting pretty good and full of cracks and spalling from winter salt. I did a lot of research on different options. I didn't want to spend thousands of dollars because I need that money for Porsche parts. I looked at several different epoxy systems, polyurea, porcelin, even rust bullet. When I decided on a system I thought was the best option I then found out it wasn't available to the general public. One day at a shopping mall I saw a contractor repairing a concrete sidewalk so I asked him a bunch of questions and he told me to go to Sherwin Williams. After looking at several products they had applied to different parts of the stores floor I decided to go with a Zylene base opaque sealer that they had applied outside the front entrance. It was the only product in an outside high traffic area and it had held up the best. I did the grind, used a two part epoxy mixed with sand for the cracks, used Ardex cd fine for the spalling( great product) and then put down two coats of the sealer the last being mixed with shark grip. For 700sqft the materials where less than $500. The floor came out great, I just finished a few days ago and have rolled jacks, toolboxes and even dropped a hammer off a stepladder with no damage.

It's called h&c color top, solvent based sealer. I got it through Sherwin Williams. Good product $235 for 5 gallons coverage is around 240 ish a gallon. Just make sure you wear a respirator.

I like your approach, trying to do something similar with my garage. can you post a higher resolution picture? hard to see the floor in the small pic. did you do any other prep? etch?
