Bought this Reelcraft this weekend. Model 6450-ELP. Can't find info for it on their website. Any of you know anything? Age, value, etc. Will the cast mounting base be OK mounted upside down? It is in pretty decent condition.

Images added versus link.

That is one of the nicest ones I've seen. i'm guessing it isn't on the website because probably 40 years older than the internet. the mounting is cast so you can probably mount it any way you wish, but you will want to run your hose over those nice rollers and I can't see if they are on all four sides.

also looks like your previous owner put a new hose and new brass fittings on it. just curious what you paid for something that nice?

if you can post a picture on the thread instead of the link it will stay with the thread for years even if you change online picture services for others to know what we are talking about. I would have saved it to my laptop and put up a Photobucket big picture, but couldn't save your picture.

That reel is badass. Reelcraft are one of the best.
I'm looking to get a second one for my garage.
That old cast-iron base is awesome....

Very nice. If you do mount it off the floor make sure it is solid, that falling on your head could really put a damper on your day. :badteeth:

I would imagine you could mount it any way you want. I believe that if you loosen the four fasteners along the perimeter you can rotate the inside cover and fairing to make the hose pull out wherever you want.

Yeah, looking again this morning - That thing is sweet. Really wish I'd find a reel like that soon. My leaky china one is starting to really tick me off.
