info on a Delta drill press model 14-041

anyone have one that can measure the column for me.
I see one for sale,guy must not have anything he can accurately measure column diameter with,first he said 3 inches then he corrected that to 2-13/16".
I m hoping its actually 2-3/4" so that parts will interchange with my Rockwell.

can someone please verify for me,its a long drive to make a mistake.
model is a 14-040

That's an import, wouldn't be surprised if it's metric.

well I blew the model number and cant correct its a 14-040

70MM is really close to 2.75.

is that a common size for imports?

I have a delta press in storage, possibly 14-040 . will try to check it/ measure it tomorrow, providing the weather isn't too bad. calling for a major blizzard overnight/tomorrow

thanks the 14-040 is both a 14 inch bench model and a 16.5 inch floor model
I ll assume that both have same diameter columns.

Ask the seller to wrap a strip of paper around it, then measure that and you do the quick math.

I asked how he measured.....

2-13/16 is so very close to mine thats 2-3/4.Do you have a digital caliper or mic?

seller:
I used a callipar and a tape



So with that I doubt the accuracy will improve.....

measure with micrometer
mark with chalk
cut with axe
