info on impact driver

I am wanting to get a impact driver, battery, and power, and would like some info please. I am thinking abut the ones at HF bc of the price and can use the coupon. Have looked at Walmart but not much else(in person and online) I am not wanting to spend more than $75.00 if possible. Also about the time of the battery that it last etc thanks

From what I have heard the battery life on the HF stuff (including the impact driver) is terrible. You are bbetter off saving up for a rigid, cobalt, or ryobi impact if on a budget. There is a real big difference between a $75 impact driver and a $100 or $125 one. Save the money for a better unit. Don't get me wrong; I own and use several HF corded power tools. The battery powered ones I stay away from. They are still using outdated NiCad batteries in them.

Plus the Ryobi tool lineup is large and expansive. This kit includes a lithium battery and charger, so you can pick up other Ryobi tools. The multi-tool and radio are both awesome. And of course, a sawzall and circular would come in handy. You can pick up the Ryobi lanterns for like $15 off ebay. Their lineup of tools is impressive.

To clarify, you're looking for an impact DRIVER, with a 1/4" hex drive, to use for various screwdriver bits, socket adaptors etc ? If so, sounds like you'd be a good candidate for Ryobi. Real decent stuff for the casual user. You can get an impact driver with two 1.5 AH batteries for $99. Battery life, with two batteries, it's unlikely you'd ever have any downtime, unless you were building a deck or something and using it non-stop all day. I'd suggest bumping up the budget to $150 and get the combo with a drill. Porter Cable might be in the same price range and a good buy, I'm not real familiar with them, but I think that Ryobi is probably the least expensive line of decent power tools and a good bang for the buck.

I have he ryobi stuff. I built a fence with it, use it for anything around the house. Hell I used it to strip a motor at the house one day lol

How was that? Usually the cheapest the Ryobi impact kit goes for $69 I think. I'd go with the Makita or Milwaukee set as linked by DFB unless the OP wants to be in the Ryobi world (tools are cheaper and more plentiful).

can never go wrong with Milwaukee. Don't have an impact driver, but use my impact wrenches daily.
