Info on old air compressor

Hello all, looking for some info on this air compressor I just bought it says it’s a 1954 us army air compressor model 53-202 super heavy I was looking for similar compressors online, however I couldn’t find any. I don’t know much about this one. I think it’s going to be a fun little project. I got it started doesn’t run too good possibly the carburetor. Anyone know where I can get parts or an owners manual for the thing I would love to know what color they came originally I don’t believe the blue is the color but I have no clue please any info appreciate it. Was also trying to figure out where you would put a battery on there unless the battery just sits on the floor ? Thanks all

I have the cover removed from one of the belt sides. The other is still on.

I'm no help yet, but wanted to see the starter. I like that little rig.

Thanks, looking to get it back in working condition. Wanted to keep it original. Was thinking of welding a plate where the gas tank is on the lower tank for the battery, but I kinda want to wait to see if I could find some pictures or info on it.

They do make pretty small AGM batteries these days that would crank that fine.

Hmm, maybe not . that's a starter /generator and they are very inefficient . probably needs a lot of amps to spin that

I used a small jumper pack to start it. It seemed like it needed more voltage

it could be 24 volt ,or it could need more amps
