Hello fellow enthusiasts! I'm am still some what new to this awesome forum and already has helped me out a bunch. I Was given this awesome floor jack by a buddy and it doesn't pump or anything. I have filled oil tried removing air etc and still nothing. I read the jack sticky and still nothing. The only label on it left is the 'made in Japan' Sticker. Which by me and it's age is better than made in China. So anyone have info or know brand as to I guess I'm going to have to rebuild. Figured I would post before messaging Hiball. Thanks in advanced.

Don't want to pop your bubble, but jap products were just as bad if not worse than what china sends sometimes.

At least china is taking advantage of the newer machining technology that's available today.
They sure do a great job of counter fitting ..................

Hey that's why I posted in trying to get feedback on what I should do. Had trouble finding local shop that knew/would work in it a d they said about 350 to fix so in my eyes I don't know if worth that or do it myself.

Unless you have some special attachment to that jack, I wouldn't put any money into it.

Consider buying a used but operational US made jack (Hein Werner, Weaver, etc.) Around here they can be readily found for under $200, and sometimes under $100.

Another option would be the HF Daytona Jack (do a search here on GJ for more info than you need or want).

It's actually a pretty good design, it's simple... Thus uses very few seals. I wouldn't in a million years spend $350, if you have any mechanical skills, a vise capable of holding the hydraulic unit, Your good.

You might have to buy the parts individually. But first try Hiball's suggestion: Contact Hydraulic Parts Supply at 620-594-2247

Not always true. I have a made in Japan Sears jack, bought back in the 70's, get used almost daily, doesn't owe me 5 cents.

The Next step IMO would be to tear into the jack and verify internal condition to make sure I wasn’t wasting money on a seal kit that would never get used. It will also allow you to verify seal types/sizes to aid in acquiring the proper seal kit or individual components if required.
