Anyone knows where I could buy parts for a "Webster" compressor pump. I'd like to do a complete rebuilt. I have a 80 and 81 model.

Please any help would be appreciated. I'm desperate if you cannot tell ahaha

I included two pictures, only because we all like pictures

Last I heard, Compresseurs Quebec were selling parts for Webster, but I don't see them listed there anymore. Those head unloaders on that Model 81 are pretty rare. Websters were a frustrating breed. Some of the older stuff was as tough as they come, but they had some not too good ideas, like clamping the valves in place using the head gaskets between the upper cylinder head plates. The older, brass connecting rod models were very strong units. When they went to the aluminum rods, they tended to knock out the small ends. The HP iron pistons also would wear a lot, inducing a lot of slap between the rod pin and the piston, leading to lots of slop. They also didn't radius the crank journals, and more than one Webster crank snapped at the counterweights. The Model 81 you have was Webster's last unit, and they were trying hard to rectify their self-imposed unreliability (cheaping out on parts and designs). They introduced roller bearings in the small ends and went back to babbitt inserts in the big ends. Unfortunately, it was all over for Webster by the late 80's. A group of employees bought up all the spares and sold Webster parts throughout the 90's, so a Webster was still a good bet for quite awhile after the company folded. I guess they sold the rights to Compresseurs Quebec to sell the spares. The market for Webster parts must be getting pretty small by now, but if you can find the parts, the Model 81 can be a pretty reliable unit.

The unloaders are set up wrong on that pump btw.

I see you are in Ottawa, so am I. Contact Regional Compressor. Luc or Gilles should be able to tell you if you can still get parts.

Thanks for taking the time to write this up. Sounds like you are very knowledgeable on these compressors. I might have read some of your comments on other sites. (Roger??) I read somewhere about Compressor Quebec and phoned them up. They have no spare parts. The companies that do have parts have a very very limited inventory but its getting to the point of don't hope to buy a Webster pump to do a full restoration. Run it till it dies, then part it out and sell those parts to someone else. I might tear it apart, meet with a machinist and make spare parts for this pump. But money will dictate what Ill do with it. Ill try to run it as long as I can. Its a good conversation starting talking about some special machinery in a garage ahaha I could tell the head were made of some aluminium. Much lighter than my two Ingersoll Rand 7100.

I do know Gill and Luc. I met them earlier this year. He's also looking for parts for a Model 80. Looking at the manual, some parts are interchangeable.

As per the unloaders being set up wrong, I did not have time to look at the manual and verify the functioning of the pump except for turning the flywheel to make sure it compress. Here's a link to one of my post on this forum that I wrote after. You might want to copy your reply to this link for future reference. Cant tell how many hours I spent searching the net for info.
