That is what is referred to as a sensitive drill press. It was designed to drill very accurate but relatively small diameter holes. I don’t know what company built that particular drill press, but I can look around and see if I can match it up.

This link should lead you to some info:

Appears your DP is either a Muelhmatt or, as mentioned above, a Hamilton.

Well the machine has been acquired and is in my shop. The belt guard and light are missing so the hunt is on. As far as what it is, several comparison photos from around the net and from the Practical Machinist site identify it as a Hamilton Tool Co. Varimatic sensitive drill press. There is also a casting number on the bottom of the base H-A-1010

I've done a partial disassembly and plan to attack this project is stages starting with the base and table. Also, is there any way to possibly identify the year of manufacture by the tag in the motor? The wiring was too decrepid to risk testing so I'll get to that later.

Research Update

It seems that my machine is not a Varimatic model of the Hamilton Sensitive Drill Press but rather it is the Maxi Jr. Model of the Hamilton Tool Co. Sensitive Drill Press. Ya gotta love doing the research. :bounce:
