Got a 28t707 1113e1 briggs & stratton 12.5hp engine that's on the way out. I can't find any information on it. Would like to replace the engine. So if anyone has any information on this motor shaft size, length, taper ect so I can find something to fit my mower it would be really appreciated.

Thanks.

Good luck

I researched a briggs motor once and concluded they have a multitude of model numbers for the same basic motor. Appears each retailer gets a different model number.

28 cubic inch "t" series verticle shaft plain bearing electric start.
I could not find other specs but at www.jackssmallengines.com you can find parts by the number you posted. Might take each part number and or where used list and do more searching for specs. I only have a chart that shows the breakdown of info stated above.

Contact www.equipatron.com via email or phone. They have some great techs that can help you with a suggested replacement engine. Note that they are busy at this time of the year so be patient waiting for an answer. Email might be your best bet.

Is this on a consumer-grade riding mower or on a commercial walk-behind? If the former, you're probably going to pay more than 50% of the new price just for the motor. If you need other items (blade spindles, belt pulleys/idlers, belts), you may be better off just buying either a new unit or a refurbished used unit.

I work on a lot of lawn tractors and just like with cars, you can spend $1200 and still end up with a $250 lawn tractor afterwards (not that you are going to sell it). But if it is a quality machine (older Deere, Cub Cadet, Wheelhorse/Toro, etc.) then it is well worth keeping going.
