Information on Republic hand tools

I tried the search engine without luck before posting.
I found a 3/8" drive breaker bar labeled "Republic" and "Forged in USA" on the handle in a toolbox that belonged to my dad. I don't believe that it's real high quality but is made in the USA.
I googled this and found some rather vague info that it was probably a store brand made for a hardware or department store.
Appearance wise it's similar to an old Craftsman that a friend owns. Has anyone heard of this brand?

Obviously a bit different, but that is the only "Republic" we know of thus far.
I don't really have an answer.
That set in the blue box is definitely an oddball - only one I've ever seen.

Thanks for the info. I have no idea where he may have picked that up, knowing him I bet he didn't buy it new!
