So I'm finishing my barn. It's 30x48x12 18x10 door on 30ft gable end
I got a light layout thanks to the lighting board.
I want to run a 30ft radiant tube.

With the light plan the rows are 6 ft apart. How close can these heaters be?
My lift with be offset to one side but the end of it will land around the middle of the shop.

I was thinking of mounting the heater down the 48ft side at a 45 degree angle
It will be close to the lights... or should I just put it as close to center as possible? Then it will be close to the lift

Any suggestions?
I'm looking at the Reverbaray DES3 30ft
Low intensity single stage

I put my 20' tube down the side of my 24x32 at a 45....I would NOT put it above a lift. Clearances for mine were about 5' and you don't want to be cooking the paint of a car on a lift.

My big concern is how close can light fixtures be to the heater

Mine are within a few feet, but above and away from the shield. If they are not directly above the tube, they should fine. My wall is about 4" from the shield and stays cold to the touch, but don't be in front or directly above it... that gets HOT.

That's what I'm worried about. If the heater is between a row of lights it with be about 2.5-3 ft from the lights. It will be lower but worried angled at 45 degrees they might be in line with the tube not the reflector.
It will be close

looking at your lighting layout the center looks like a good spot...i guess the lift is the issue...can it be moved? you dont need to mount tube at exactly 45 degree angle... you can tweek it ...may make the difference with your lights

My shop is 30 ft. (29' on the inside)wide also. I'm going with 4 rows of lights, this leaves the center open for the tube heater.

I used the program PS posted to figure out the lighting layout.

I could move the lift but that is where I want it.
I am debating 4 or 5 rows of lights. going with 4 would save me over $200 .

I think the best place for the heater will be between the 1st and 2nd row of lights angle almost 45 degrees with the back of the shield back of heater 12" from the light and front will be about 5 ft away from the lights

If you look at the Reverbaray (sp?)website they have a formula that explains the amount of coverage the tube heater requires. Its smaller than I thought. Not sure about part way into the room on an angle.

Also, on the program Platonic posted I changed the something number from 100% to 90% and it switched from 5 rows to 4 rows.
