Infrared Tube Heater Question/Info

I'm looking for advice/suggestions on purchasing an infrared tube heater. I live in western KY and have a 30x40 pole barn, bubble wrap insulated on all walls and roof. The bottom of truss to the concrete floor is approx. 10 ft and approx. 15 ft. at the peak. So far this winter the coldest I've ever seen my barn is low 30's, obviously without any heat on at all. If I could obtain between 60-65 degrees from low 30's I'd be pleased. I'm looking at a two-stage Re-verber-ray, 20ft tube 50,000 BTU heater. Any advice and/or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey Cats
My Building is about the same size, but 5 ft higher ceiling. The company
I'm using, Ambirad, said I need a 2-stage 60K-80k. Hope this helps.
When I first read your post I thought you might be a little small, but
the more I think about it , you might be ok. I'm farther North too, so I'll need more.

All in all, radiant tube is the way to go.

I too have a 30x40 pole barn addition and I have a Reverberray hl3 50/75 30 foot heater that I just fired up yesterday. It puts off alot of heat and quickly raised the temp from 40* to 65* in about an hour in a half and then went to single stage and has kept it 65* since yesterday and runs about every 45 mins. for about 10 mins or so the concrete has gotten to 55* and i figure it will only cycle less and less once the concrete is up to 65* it was easy to install and reasonably priced.

I have a 75,000BTU in my 30x36 and it works awesome. You don't need a two stage. Its not a good heatet if your not planning on leaving it on all the time. It works by heating the slab and keeping it warm which the heats the air. I love mine. I have R22 in the walls and R50 in the ceiling but it gets a lot colder than 30 here. . .

Tube heaters are great for a shop, I'm thinking you may need 75-80,000 and also agree that there's no need for the 2 stage. Look at the installation specs carefully. Some brands require 2 ft clearance above the heater which means it will be hanging at 8ft and burning your head and vehicles parked under it. Unless of course the heat shields are adjustable than you can angle them instead of pointing straight down.
