I was watching this YouTube video about underground plumbing when I noticed this guy's "PVC Caddy." Looks like he took a 5-gallon bucket handle and taped it to the primer and glue containers with duct tape. Brilliant! :)

Good idea ... if you don't have a bucket strap, you could use a scrap piece of 10 or 12 gauge solid copper wire.

I thought I saw a plastic caddy for glue cans somewhere. Then again when we plumb I hold the can for Dad so I get all the mess on me. He's a smart person!

Oh look an even easier way to knock the damn can over and make a permanent stain.

Am I the only one that refuses to use the purple cleaner for the most part? I'll use it if the job needs to pass inspection, but for personal use I dont use it. I would never not use cleaner, they still sell the clear cleaner. Proof of the use of cleaner can be seen from the lack of leaks. I hate the purple stuff.

Don't ask.

Same here. Whoever did the plumbing in my current house used the purple. I'd hate to what would happen if he tried to use of anti-seize.

I have seen people tape or rubber band the two containers together, same with epoxy.

Purple/clear primer is more aggressive than cleaner and softens the pipe for a better solvent weld.

I'm not a purple lover, either.

Usually run through glue two or three times as fast as primer tho, so attaching two cans seems kinda awkward, plus now its bulkier and the cans wont sit nice on the steps of my ladder, in trusses or wherever else I find myself setting cans :D

Purple is nice, you can see that a fitting is primed/glued, and if you're not a monkey with your primer you can also get a general idea if the fitting has pushed. When it gets humid here the fittings seem to always push apart, so if you ran through a whole house quick looking for a leak and saw you had TONS of purple beyond your fitting it would be a good place to check for leaks (Beyond the other obvious easy places to check first)

So as not to get so much purple cleaner on the tube can't you squeeze some of the cleaner on the inside of the rim before applying to the plastic. I do this with the ABS solvent all the time, if it is dry and more solvent is needed I just re-apply, always making sure that it looks clean and not sloppy. But then again I don't have a boss pushing me or breathing down my back. YMMV.
