I bought a Quincy QT 7.5 ~20 years ago; all USA made at that time. It's loud, but it's very well built, heavy, and durable. When I did my research, I looked at the exploded parts diagrams for the pumps, and at that time the comparable IR used a cantilevered crankshaft - only supported on one side. Don't assume this is the same today, check. I called Quincy and talked to either an engineer or salesman that knew WTF he was talking about; not sure you can do that in the internet age, but at that time I was transferred right thru. He gave me stupid specs that I'd have no way to verify like oil blowby, etc, the pump has been the same since it came off the ark, parts are available thru their hundreds of US dealers.... Between speaking to him and the parts diagram differences, I went with the Quincy.
The Quincy was more than I could afford at the time. If I was buying today, with no mortgage payment, I'd probably go with Saylor Beall; but that's at least a step higher and going to be significantly more $$$.
I wouldn't assume Quincy uses a USA made motor as I've seen them both ways. Mine is USA Baldor, then I think they switched to Mexico Baldor for a while, and who knows about now. And it may vary by model, can change tomorrow. So, check if you're COO particular. Either way, I'm pretty sure Baldor can build the same electric motor in Mexico as they can the US, but that is always a touchy subject here.
