I admit it is not the most practical tool in the world, but for whatever is worth it is very well made, with a velvet smooth movement. Surprisingly enough it was made in Los Angeles, I assume some time in the mid sixties to mid seventies. It rarely gets used since I have a drill press, but I don't have the heart to trash it, since they don't make them like that any more!!!! What do you guys think?

Keep it. Started off with a similar set up to yours, still use it on certain jobs although I have a good size drill press. Also use it for the pilot hole when drilling large holes in light material, saves changing drill bits and speeds.

I wonder if the Craftsman version is the same just rebranded? I see Craftsman ones quite often at sales and on Craigslist. I'm pretty sure some sellers think they're real drill presses with the prices they're asking!
