ingersoll rand impact wrench

I have seen an Ingersoll Rand impact wrench, model EB2125X for sale at the local tractor supply store for $189.99

I have been looking for reviews of this model but despite a search at Amazon and a gazillion other places I haven't been able to find any.

The specs look pretty darn good to me. 690 ft-lb max torque rev., 50-500 ft-lbs forward, four torque settings, etc. The tool feels nice and is well balanced and i like the where the reverse/forward buttons are located.

But given the lack of real world performance I am skeptical.

If anyone has any knowledge of this tool please chime in.

Also, what do you guys think of Ingersoll Rand impact wrenches in general? Junk? Good? I never had that brand so I know very little about them.

I bought one, but it's not currently in stock, got email yesterday and they tell me it's arriving any day now. After long speculation - I choose this one.

Little more torque, ( same specs as the 2135timax) it's a 2135timax without the titanium hammer cover basically, and a little different housing, it's got the hammer cover they put on the Cornwell IR-C8000 instead. All just depends on what you want.

The 1250K puts out a bit more torque, little smoother because of the pin style hammers. Little bit heavier that the 2135, but a very quiet tool as well.

Thanks. I was considering the Aircat but the IR reputation won over this time.

Not a little bit, it's **** load of more torque!

Well I can tell you it's stronger and smoother and has a WAY bigger output shaft on the rotor that I have yet to see snap off like I've witnessed quite a few times on the 2135timax, but it would hardly matter what I said, someone would disagree, especially the Nitrocat hatin' IR lovin' folks. Me, I'd take one over a TImax every time.

Guess what, I got the Aircat 1250K instead of the IR-QXPA. I got bored waiting since it was out of stock and based on this thread I contacted the seller and asked him to send me Aircat 1250 instead.

"Co worker" (so to speak) was tightening a crankshaft bolt , adding the final 90° and the two 1/2" impacts he tried only managed about 30°.
These two actually:




He was running around the shop checking the air pressure and gathering more impacts when I got there.

So I handed him the Aircat and told him to be careful. Thankfully he only pulled the trigger for a split second to test what would happen. That was all it took, and actually the bolt vent to 100° or so. I was as surprised as him as we hardly heard the wrench hammer.

So like you said, plenty of power, silent and smooth.

MY IR air tools have always performed flawlessly. You would have to spend a buttload of money to beat an IR.
