Ingersoll Rand Regulator - rebuildable?

So i'm on my second IR regulator.. and this one is now acting the same way. I occasionally paint and turn it down to 40psi. works fine and then I turn it back up. Then sometimes it starts leaking and I have to crank it + to stop the leak. Then I can no longer reduce the pressure.

This is the 2nd time this has happened with different IR regulators. Any ideas if this issue can be fixed via a rebuild?

I have a different brand and it did the same thing. Easy to disassemble. There was just some junk under the regulator diaphragm that kept it from seating. Cleaned it out and it works fine now. No idea where the **** came from, but it was a used regulator. If it is **** in the regulator, you might consider a coarse filter near the compressor outlet and put a finer filter in your filter/regulator.

Yup, have done it before with these valves...usually some grit/particles get into the O ring seals and are letting air pass. Clean up, light lube, and reassemble and you're good to go.
