Ingersoll Rand T-10 compressor

Got this compressor about 5 months ago when I bought a "retired" service van from work. Sold the van quick for tripple my money and kept the compressor.

My question, would a gasoline compressor, mounted outside of my garage and covered from rain and such, be a reliable solution for a shop? By shop I mean "home" use, although equipment does follow me home occasionally.

Ita dirty, and needs a couple things, but would run when I brought it home.

Seems like it'd certainly be more expensive to run than an electric motor. Plus you'll have to constantly be adding gas. I personally don't see it as practical. I'd sell it and buy a nice new 240v compressor.

EDIT: Another option might be to buy an electric motor and convert it.

I'd sell it if it was me, assuming I didn't have a 5hp electric motor laying around to repower. 20 gallons is kind of small, and I think it's safe to say that compressor is going to be a bit loud.

Agree, sell it to someone that wants or needs engine drive.

I don't think it's a IR T10 pump. It looks more like a modern craftsman pump

Yes,you absolutely resell it but after servicing or recolor it.If you increase a motor capacity and working performance then check to wires,switches.Tank gas gallon and regulator.

Thanks for the input guys. My neighbor, who bought the van, is asking about the compressor now. I suppose I might wanna jump on that lol.
