Over here....
Just picked them up, each had mounds of saw dust.

I don't have a need for more Top and Bottom sets (meh, maybe one for supplies).

So is it worth it to clean and repaint them for listing on CL? Or just sell them as is? I have already merged the decent tools and sent the junk back to China.

I'd clean them up, don't repaint, lube the slides and donate them to a deserving young person who needs a tool box.

Sell as is. The time and expense to repaint them won't increase the price enough to justify the effort.

This.

Find a friend or family member who may be starting a tool collection who may need tool storage. Not making a few $ yourself could mean a lot to someone else without the means to buy for themselves.

A picture would be required before we could really say whether it would be worthwhile to repaint before selling. They would have to be REALLY nasty before I went through the trouble, but I have done it before (they were REALLY NASTY).
It might help to give us your location.

I got an old 26" craftsman box at an estate auction for cheap, but it was in need of a paint job. It came out looking great, and I was able to match the paint pretty well, but you can still tell it's paint vs powder coat.

If the existing finish is serviceable, I'd wash them off, lube them, and give it away or sell it
