Hey guys - can anyone tell me a bit about this Sun engine analyzer? I've sent out an email to the guy, but figured someone on here might have some input. Also, what would you pay for it, assuming it works. I can't tell what model # it is.

I would start at $100 if it all works and go from there... I paid $250 for mine and it was a newer version. I should have started at $150.

Do you what model it is?

If you are interested, like what was mentioned, I would offer a lot less. There is one in the Seattle area, that has been on Craigslist for a couple of months, that hasn't sold; they are asking $250 for that one and it has a roller cabinet with it.

Very nice machine!!!That's an early-mid 1970's Sun Infra-Red analyzer. It's the largest and most sophisticated of the old school familiy of machines that were manufactured from the late 1950's through the 1970's. It is not a computer based machine and uses mostly 1960's electrical component technology.

They are not very popular with collectors simply because of their size. That said, if you have the space, it's worth the investment. Make sure it works and that all the accessories are included. Fixing these machines is an expensive proposition.

Estimated worth -- Good condition = $300-$500 Fair condition = $100-300

I wouldn't go over $500, they are very hard to sell on e-bay and other auction sites because they can't be readily shipped. In most cases "pickup only" reduces the value considerably.

Good luck!!
