I think I’ve finally decided how I want to do the lighting for my small garage. Dimensions are 18’x26‘ with 9.5‘ ceilings. I think I’ll do 9 two bulb t8 fixtures with bypassed ballasts for LED tubes. The tubes I’ve picked are 2200 lumen 18 watt, frosted and 5000k. This give me just under 40,000 lumens for 85 lumens per sqft. Each line of three lights that run the 26 foot direction will be on its own switch. The only thing I’m not too sure about is the position of two of the lights in relation to the garage door tracks. As you can see in the drawing two of the lights will be installed just a little inboard and above the tracks. Is this something I should be concerned about? I was thinking that having them inboard of the tracks would be better than outboard as it will cast the shadow out towards the wall where the man door is an not into the main working area of the garage. Anything else I should be considering?
