I was for a year. You get slightly better deals. There are some coupons you get that are really good but they tend to be on bigger items. It really depends on what you buy from HF and how often.

I had it for a yr didn't really think it was worth it, though I basically got it for free..

I tried it for a year also. Most of the ITC coupons are regular "super coupons" that are cycled back and forth, and too many aren't as good as the current "sale price" + 20% coupon. I also ended up buying stuff I didn't need just to try to make membership worthwhile. I thinks it's a bit of a scam.

I was thinking about signing up also after another member here said he was able to get the red 7 drawer tool cart for only $100 after signing up. Have to confirm that is true at my local store before I do.

I was an ITC member way back when there was no such thing as a local store, back then you got some real good deals and free shipping as well.

I don't pay to be part of something.

If it was next door and I was there all the time then it's possible if I spent that much there but that's not the case. I don't need that many machetes bro!:bounce:

I guess I'm one of the few who like it. They have some super coupons that are pretty good. Anyway, I'll keep getting it.

It has gotten worse over the past few years. It is to the point now that over 90% of the coupons are available elsewhere for free. The only way it makes sense is on large items where it saves more than the cost in a single transaction. Also the price used to be $20/year and now it is $30

This was probably like back when they gave a $20 gift card for signing up and still allowed 25% off coupons to be used on tool storage.

I've never gotten it because from every ITC flyer I've seen, the real savings are only on big stuff (not tool storage, though), and that's not what I get from HF.

I've only had an ITC membership for just over two months. Store associate talked me into buying the two year membership, not that it was horribly expensive anyways.

Already paid for itself in that short time frame on a small number of items.

Current promo is $30 for a year, and a $10 gift card.

The blind hole puller I just snagged is $69.99. Best I could do on that is $52.49 with a 25% off coupon.

ITC price was $35.99.

Not saying every deal will be that good, but there's quite a few.

This seems like the situation for most, if one deal lets you do it at effectively no cost, give it a shot, but not what it used to be, and not a good deal for many.

Page 530 from the " let's see your tool box thread from 3 weeks ago.

Here's the receipt for any suspicions. Believe me, I was a little confused about it myself when I was told the 5 drawer was $100. The register's printer must have been running low on ink or something as seen on the tag but it does say item# 95272 HEAVY DUTY 5-DRAWER ROLL 99.99

Recently upgraded from the little 3 drawer Craftsman hand carry in the garage to the 5 drawer HF tool cart. Plus, I got a pretty good deal on this one after signing up for the "inside track club." $100 with the $20 membership. Didn't know anything about it until the cashier told me. Heck I was ready to use my $165 coupon.

That may be one of the funniest things I've ever read on GJ...

Meh. If you buy a lot from harbor freight (a possibility) it might be worth it. They get a bad rep for some suspect tools they sell but I'd trust their taiwanese stuff over any of the gearwrench chinese garbage some of the guys on here are pushing and they're always pushing that s(tuff).:D

I look at it this way, about 10-20% of the stuff at HF is worth buying. Out of that percentage there are enough super coupons to make it worth it to me. Most of the time I use the coupons in the car mags as they're a better deal.

Has nothing to do with the value of ITC.

You'd have to know Mickey O's feelings about Harbor Freight to appreciate the humor.

Oh no, I realized that but i disregarded them because they're not valid. Just as not valid as my comments on snap on (seemingly) promotional threads.:eyecrazy:

Nature of the internet I suppose.

I've been a member for a few weeks and I walked in and found an open box tool chest for $80. I had good timing and have found it to be as good as any craftsman I have.

It's worth what you want to be. For me, it's useful for the early access to the tent sales. Look for the purple sales tags in the store for the ITC sale items.

There is an unadvertised advantage in that open box return items are 50% off the lowest marked price during tent sales. I got a motorcycle jack normally for $150 down to $30. There's quite a few good deals if you go in with your eyes open.

The *best* coupons are those found in automotive or home improvement magazines. Those have the best prices that last the longest.

I usually browse the monthly ITC deals out of curiosity, but December doesn't appear to be up yet. Did they change the site address pattern?

I signed up for the ITC for $30., manager was great and he gave me 25% off the 44" box that was on sale for $349. so I got a $10 gift card and the 44" box cost me $262.00. I'm happy .. Nice box for the money, week later I bought a 5 drawer cart too....

May go back for another 44" box if I can sell two more of my old craftsman's..

All in all, it's only 30 dollars. and you get a 10 dollar gift card (or bounceback or whatever) for your next purchase. so you're down 20 dollars, and a year of potentially nice savings? that doesn't sound too bad to me.

Hell, I even work at the new harbor freight in bangor, ME.. and the discount I get doesn't really compare to some of the savings you can get on the coupons and other deals going on.

I'm really curious about that %50 off open box price for ITC membets that I read.. is that true? sometimes this company doesn't even tell some employees about the good things.

I thought about buying the ITC membership because I wanted 2 engine stands to make a body rotisserie out of. I looked at the ad & it said "not available with itc membership" (or something like that) Glad I didn't join.

yeah some of it really *****, I really hate when the most useful discounts have the really small disclaimer: "Not valid on hydraulic equipment, winches, or tool storage"

Until you find one of the items you really want, the ITC is more of another magazine to read on the toilet until something grabs your attention, but with enough emails and monthly newsletters, there WILL be a 31 dollar potential somewhere, thus starting your savings

If your like me and acquiring a new set of tools to build the opportunities at home rather than work, ITC would be great

Car & Driver has some good coupons. Which home improvement mags have them?

ITC is a pretty good deal if you are trying to take advantage of the budget tools they offer. So far I've had great luck with their stuff, no complaints, but I also try to do some pretty thorough research prior to shopping there.

I've been a "member" two years now. I think I've spent more money there than I would've otherwise but no way to know for sure.
I don't regret doing it. Not much of an answer but that's all I got
