Anyone have an idea of what the current "typical" installed price is for standard brick in the mid-West? I realize that many factors actually affect the cost .... just wondering if anyone has a rule-of-thumb number.

I just had a little less than 10,000 bricks laid @ $325 per thousand. The guy verbally quoted me a $360/thousand on his initial visit but his work was real slow so we negotiated a few extras (jack arch, keystones and corner details) along with a lower price.

I am very happy with his work. He as also licensed and insured.

Just for reference, I pay $300/1,000 here. There are no extras, the price includes windows, doors, qoins, arches, row locks, ect.

I was paying $350/1,000 during the boom.

As for block, I pay $1/block, that is down from $1.25/block.

The above prices are for a mason with work comp, GL & auto insurance.
