I installed Epoxy-Coat yesterday. Everything went well (I plan to summarize my experience in a separate thread) but now I find I have a little problem.
A 1/4" nut is stuck in the epoxy. Where the heck did it come from? This puzzled me for about 10 seconds as the garage was spotlessly clean and prepared before I started. Then it hit me: my homemade spike boots. I used a 1 inch board with about twenty 1.75" screws in each boot as spikes. And I secured the boards to an old pair of boots with nuts and bolts through the soles. Well, seemed like a good idea. I didn't feel it fall off as I was walking around, but I discovered the nut this morning as I scanned the pristine floor.
So, what to do about it?
It's in a main walking traffic area, so leaving it embedded is not a good option. I can try chiseling it out, but I believe I'll damage the epoxy when removing it.
I suppose I could grind it down flush with the floor...
Did anyone else end up with something in the epoxy the did not plan for?
Suggestions?
