I did, some really cool stuff there.

Very intrigued by the waterless wash product line and the killer detailing stool.

I'm super stocked on Griots stuff right now (been buying by the gallon) but will check the Adam's stuff out once I get a little lower.

I keep thinking I need to try a de-ioniser too.

Thanks guys!

Dubber- Yup, TTRS is gone. It was time for another convertible. I've had a bunch of other P cars in the past and was ready to come back. A little less power, but much more enjoyable driving experience.

Jorgen, after 4 months down I can honestly say this floor is about my favorite purchase of pretty much anything. It's held up perfect and is truly a pleasure to own. It's had no issues with my 4 times a week washing either.

Just wanted to post an update now that I've had a chance to really use the floor with serious snow and ice. Works great, not slippery at all. Works great to wash on top of since the ice forms below under the floor.

Car Capsule works great on top of it too.

Still love it!

Thanks for posting and choosing RaceDeck  It really is nice having FreeFlow in the garage where your daily drivers are parked during the snowy winter months.
Happy Holidays

Newbie, but just ordered 800sf of diamond RaceDeck....super excited!
Ashley was great, even when I had to call back to make a correction to color selection.
Beautiful product, great GJ discount, free shipping...made the decision EZ!

They ask you to agree not to divulge the exact price, but after calculating the discount and free shipping it was literally pennies more per sf than the cheap stuff I had been looking at. It definitely made the decision to go with RD an easy and regret-free one.

In fact, I was so inspired I bought a Harley themed set of RD for my father in law for Christmas as well ;)

Make the call! you won't regret it!

Why does the price have to be a secret? I can go down to Home Depot and see what epoxy or tile costs. Seems squirrelly.

It takes less time to call RaceDeck than to drive to Home Depot. RD was real straight with me when I called and I ended up going with them for my tiles. Far as I was concerned, it was worth having to call them to get the nice discount and free shipping. Order arrived within a very few days.

Nothing shady about the Racedeck guys and gals. I've done two complete garages and they give you quick pricing, quick delivery and a great product.

By the way love this garage - nice work on the rumble strip look!

I didn't say the company was shady, but why not advertise the price?

Personally I will not bother to call ANYONE who refuses to advertise their prices. In my experience it is simply a ploy to get you on the phone. It is an old sales technique that plays on the persuasiveness of the sales person instead of the product. Makes me very uncomfortable, so I refuse to do it.

I can certainly understand your point. I have felt that way in the past. Although to me it depends on the product. In the case with RaceDeck their price can be very dependant upon quanitity and design. When it comes to places like Home Depot, in general you pay the same price per sqft whether you buy one tile or 1,000. My guess that is not the case with RaceDeck. So publisizing a price list could in some ways hurt their business. It's also easier many times to discuss someones needs over the phone to get them an accurate quote rather than a blanket quote over the internet or someone trying to figure it up on their own and assuming the wrong price. You also have to look at the reputation of the company as well. RaceDeck gets very high praise from what I have found, so it wouldn't bother me to have to call. In fact that reminds me, I need to call about some samples.

That's right, it depends on the product. However after reading so many posts about Racedeck on GJ, it's fine to ask about a GJ member discount. I've also called in for samples for more than one color and every time they have sent a full tile no problem. If you look hard enough into archives and past posts, you'll find the GJ discount price mentioned if you're too weirded out too call. Even Jack Olsen has good things to say about a Racedeck, and doesn't even have Racedeck in his garage lol. Businesses got to do what they have to do to remain competitive.... The main thing is to have the floor you want when it's all done...

Reputable businesses have a price list that says "Starting at". They will also list discounts, price break points, etc.

This tactic of not listing any prices is, as I said, a way to get you on the phone so they can sell you, nothing more from what I can tell. Believe me, I used to be a jewelry salesman, and we used this tactic all the time. I hated it. It was the ideal way to get you to pay the most possible, while still making you feel like you got a good deal. It is especially suspicious when you tell your customers not to say the price in public, that way you don't have people comparing deals.

Jim

PS Just to be clear, I am not in any way knocking the product, just the sales tactics.

They NEVER told me not to mention their pricing and have purchased twice so I'm not sure if others have been told that? As stated above there are several options to choose from and the more you buy the better deal they can put together such as free shipping too. My freeflow was around $2.80 shipped if I recall but has been a while since I backed into the unit pricing. That should give you a starting point to do some rough numbers if desired.
Either way I understand not spending your money if something makes you uncomfortable. I had that experience recently over buying something and you've got to feel good about it.

This is a quote from this same thread:

I am not trying to bad mouth this company, the stuff looks great, which is why I'm reading these threads, I just can't understand hiding the price. You ever check ads for used cars and see one without the mileage, you know the mileage is high as hell and they want to explain "well its all highway". When I see an ad for a car or a boat without the price, I don't even bother w/ it.

I'm not sure exactly what they would be trying to "sell" once they get you on the phone. They couldn't make my garage any bigger than it was to sell additional tiles. All of the tiles are pretty much the same price. Aside from a few accessories (the ramp-up borders for the garage door, parking locators, etc) there really aren't that many overpriced bells and whistles to push.

In my experience it was a no-pressure transaction. Shauna was professional, answered my questions, took my order as I specified and didn't mention any extras.

I'm not sure why you never see pricing posted, don't really care. But to be honest, in my experience this company redefines the term customer service. I'll agree it seems odd they don't have set prices, but when ordering is this easy and the product is that good, I'm fin with making a phone call.

The mark of a truly gifted salesperson is to take your money and make you feel good about it.

Hiding the price is a great way to do that. Imagine finding out someone else saved 30% over your price on a similar job? THAT is why a company would not want the price divulged, and would not post the price for all to see.

The product may be the best thing since sliced bread, but shady sales techniques make it completely unpalatable for me, IMHO!

Hello
Sorry you feel that way.. If you do a search for RaceDeck you will find retail prices for all of our products. If you want to get in on the GJ member / promo prices, then just drop us a note with which of the dozen + styles, color and quantity. 90% of the time we work with the caller to make sure they are looking at the best product for their needs, the real quantity they may need ( usually less), how to properly install, etc. The end result in most cases is a customer who is happy with their new RaceDeck floor and not frustrated due to too much or too little of the right products, and using some of the tips we may have given them.

If you prefer to not engage with anyone in purchasing your flooring you can go direct to many retailers who carry RaceDeck like http://www.bigfloors.com/product-category/garage-flooring/racedeck-garage-flooring/

or http://www.garageappeal.com/racedeckfloortile.aspx?gclid=CNTv5Krgx7sCFecRMwodVhcAaw

Or http://www.autogeek.net/racedeck-garage-floors.html

Or many others globally.

Happy holidays

I agree! Never understood hiding the price. Every time I have seen that there was a shady deal going on.

RaceDeck: Great Product, Great Service, Great Value (Owner x2)

I spent HOURS researching flooring options and the GJ discount made it an easy decision I didn't feel a moment's regret about because I got the top-quality product I wanted and a price that I could feel good about. No, RaceDeck was not the least expensive option/product I could find, but it was definitely the best value!

Jorgen, thank you for the GJ discount. As someone who DID call, someone who ordered not once, but twice (I'll post my father in laws floor when he gets it installed after Christmas) I just can't let the accusation of "shady" practices stand unanswered. Your staff was incredibly helpful, I got exactly what I wanted (nothing more) and the price was considerably discounted from the cheapest internet pricing I had found.

Let me give you an example of Fair vs Shady...My father in laws flooring required 16' of edging, it was quoted to me at what I thought was a reasonble price...after closing the deal I received an e-mail from Ashley saying she had failed to apply the GJ discount to the edging and it was in fact 50% less and she had already made the adjustment. Honestly, I wouldn't have cared, 16pcs was a very small fraction of the total order, but I definitely appreciated the honesty and effort to correct the mistake. You be the judge...

I'm glad you got good customer service and feel like you got a good deal. I am not trying to change your mind.

That said, it doesn't change my opinion of shady selling practices by hiding the price of a product forcing a person to call a salesperson to get a price, then asking them not to reveal it to others. I have already explained why!

As everyone who has read this thread knows, I love the product, loved the experience, and love my garage.

That being said I easily saw the non-GJ price on Bigfloors.com so I knew about where the cost started.

I met both of the people who helped me at SEMA (Ashley and Krystal I think) and had no less than 5 calls of questions before I bought. Never once did I feel any sales pressure to force the sale to close before I was ready, and I'm a salesman by profession.

And a non relevant sidenote- both of the ladies helping me were more attractive than any model at SEMA, serious :)

To lighten the mood, here's another snow shot….

Amen! Back to enjoying that beautiful garage you have and spirit of the thread. Any more future upgrades/changes you want to do to your space? The cars really pop against the dark freeflow - looks really good. Whenever I think I'm done good ol Rick shows me I need to get out there and do some rearranging!
