Installing a heater

I just built a 40 x 40 x12 pole barn with 2- 10 x 12 insulated doors and one metal service door. The front of the barn is laid out like this 2’ of wall then my service door then 3’ then a garage door then 4’ then another door then 4’ to the corner. The walls were wrapped in house wrap and the roof has double bubble on it. The concrete is 5-6” thick and has plastic under it. I installed R-13 on in the walls and will be installing R-30 batts in the ceiling. I have complete almost all of my electrical other than the wire for my heater. I already have a reznor 75,000 BTU heater that I am planning on installing. My question is where is the best place to install my heater? Do you want it blowing towards the back of the barn or towards the garage door wall?

The only reason I can see to do that or for BM to suggest that is fear of cold air over the HX causing condensation. What do you think.

It’s being given to me used from a family member and I don’t have it in my possession yet so I don’t know what model it is for sure. I was just asking for opinions so I have a idea on where to run my wire. He is suppose to bring it to me in a few weeks when he comes into town.

Typically a heater is installed so it's blowing towards the coldest part of the building, which in the case of a garage is towards the doors.

Consider where you want the chimney.

If you are doing a horizontal vent, you don’t want the vent over a door, window, walkway, gas valve, or electric service.

That may constrain your mounting.

Personally, I pointed one along the back wall, slightly towards the center of my garage, and one pointed towards the back of my shop.

Don’t really notice a difference or have a preference.

I'd point it in the direction of the biggest heat loss,which is generally the doors .

I have a Hot Dawg natural gas heater on the ceiling, in one corner in the back of the garage with the fan blowing downward and outward toward the overhead door on the opposite side of he garage. This seems to work quite well in that the heat blows downward and toward the opposite end of the garage which keeps the whole area warm.
