I found them domestically, I just don't remember where. It seems that they were made up to 2" CTS. with the advent of pipe freezing and Propress, I think they have fallen out of favor. They were marketed to the hotel, hospital, and manufacturing industries, where being completely **** off of domestic water was a big deal.

I watched a guy install a Shark Bite valve on a live 3/4" annealed copper water line. Went amazingly well ! He made sure to clean the pipe well and leave the valve open until the Shark Bite was seated.
