Hi everyone,

I've cleaned up this mid-century Daido/Allenite 1/2-drive ratchet. It's plain, but nice, little internal wear.

This is the most tedious spirolox yet. Usually I can get these on, but this is proving tedious beyond patience. Of course if there are special tools, including picks, I don't have them.

Any tips for getting stubborn, tight spirolox clip on?

Thanks,

Matthew

Done.

What I did was press in a 2.4mm screwdriver and wedged the beginning of the spring into place. Then I used a flat-head screw driver bit place about 3/4 the way round to lift the top coil of the spring. Then pushed the bottom coil along into the groove. Once I was half way it took care of itself and I could easily press it along into place.
