I picked up a 48" wide (54" with shroud) fan that was used to ventilate a gymnasium. My shop is 40x60 with 13 ft to the trusses and exposed beams, metal siding.

The concern I have : I don't really have a mechanism to lift it off the ground.
No very big concerns because otherwise I wouldn't have gotten the fan.

An alternate that I was considering was to install the motor outside with the fan sucking air out and running ducting to the wall. I thought using a smalelr opening would also be feasible with this setup.

I am curious about what you all would think of how this would work. All of the fan types I've seen with ducting are the squirrel cage types.

Thanks
