Installing a yard hydrant in wet ground

I had a yard hydrant in the yard for about 15 years before it finally rusted shut. One of the problems is the occasionly high water table which would not let the pipe drain completely. The water table can be very high at certain times of the year especially after a hard rain. Any suggestions for running the drain where it won't be sitting in water and will still drain?

Does it freeze where you live? Do you actually need underground drain/valve hydrant?

It does freeze but the pipes only need to be 1' underground.

Solved this fairly easily. After racking my brain trying to figure out how to get this drain to work, I simply ran a much longer (15') drain tube into some PVC down the fence line until it was below the hydrant drain. Since it drains 100% I didn't have to worry about it freezing and I am fortunate the land slopes somewhat. It drains above ground which is fine. Works a treat.
