Installing Dryer, what gauge wire?

Well 6 gauge is rated to 55 amps so I would think 8 gauge would be fine if not overkill.

Check the data plate on your dryer, mine says 24A, so a 30A 10 gauge line should be sufficient, it is for ours.

Are you talking about the whip that goes from the dryer to the receptacle, or are you installing a new breaker in your panel and feeding a new dryer receptacle?

2nd one...running new line and breaker/conduct etc :thumbup:

What does your dryer's name plate and/or manual state? My dryer says 10 AWG only if the length between the breaker and receptacle is less than 15 feet. Otherwise 8 AWG. note: I'm a DIYer, not an electrician so I'm not comfortable telling you exactly what to do, just offering a suggestion.
