Had an extension added to my garage that used a 20 foot long beam across the span. There was 3 2x18(I think that is the size) pieces that were nailed together to do this. I want to add a hoist to my ceiling but would like to use this beam to install if possibe. Is this strong enough to put screws in the bottom or use some sort of straps on the sides. The hoist is a 800 pound lift one from HF and is being used to lift a Model A car body off the frame.
