Just wondered how you guys are installing 8' strip lights with metal ceilings.
I want to plan ahead and get the junction on the flats.
But how about the connection?
I need the lights tight to the ceiling so I can't have any drops/whips.
I was thinking remodel boxes and just locate as needed and pull loose wires (previously run) through the boxes so I wouldn't have to try to be so precise on locating the holes.

Do they make 4" round remodel boxes? It'd be easy to drill a hole instead of cutting rectangular holes.

Thanks for any insight.

I am planning on doing exactly what you are proposing. I have some round remodel boxes in my stash of "contingency materials". I was feeling generous today, so I went out and took a pic for you. It takes a 4 inch hole for mine.

After some more thinking, another way would be to drill a proper sized hole through the metal ceiling, clip in a chafe bushing, then drill a large hole through the back of the light housing to fit over the bushings, with clearance. The light housing could then be used for the wire connections. This would work if you are going to surface mount the fixtures anyway.
