Installing a 36 BTU Mr Cool in brand new detached garage.
It's 40' x 44'
Not sure where to locate the unit. Thinking in the back centered on the 40' wall.
Opposite the double garage doors along the front 40'
Ceiling is 10'-6" All insulated doors, walls, ceiling
Can anyone give me some direction?

If you have fans to move the air around mounting at the back will work. If not, it'll take some time for the cool air to reach the front of the garage. If possible mounting near the center of either long wall will be a little more efficient.

I think that is a good idea.

Did you finish your install? If so, how's it working out for you?

I'm having a 30x50 metal building (carport type) put in on the next few months, and am looking at a 36k MrCool to keep the place cooled off a bit.

I'm in Eastern NC, and the summers are a bit muggy here, to say the least.

I'm in mid-TN and put one of those in my 30x60x12 CC building and have been pleased. I have closed cell foam throughout. It cools better than it heats, but it kept the shop in the low 70s during July/August last year no problem. Heat-wise, the couple of times it got into the 20s this winter I fired up the vent-free propane heater to help it keep up and it was short-sleeve comfortable inside.

Thank you.

Most of my usage will be for cooling, so I’ll probably do a propane auxiliary heat as well.

I wish I would have mounted mine this way. I put it on the back wall. If I could do it over it would be mounted on the side wall. 👍 28x32 with 12.5” ceiling.
