Installing monkey links?....

On a monkey link, do you just hammer the "nubs" to form the link? Does it take heat?

Gotta repair a chain today and just picked one up, never used one before. What works best if anyone has any tricks........

And I know someone will ask, but it's repair links like this...

Usual is just beat, no heat.

Just be sure to remember it is there when you use the chain in the future.

If having a similar size/shape link is not important, use a chain shackle.

Only being used to mount a hook for my snowplow lift arm, so no worries on strength.

Yep just beat them no heat.
I use these, much easier and can be reuse on something else if needed.
