So I'm trying to come up with a creative way to mount a mrcool 12k unit without too many headaches at my house and I developed an idea. So I currently have a built in shelving unit/area in my garage. I was thinking of throwing up some plywood or building a little frame out and sheet rocking the top portion and then leave the excess line in that cubby area and route the lines outward towards the outer wall. My only concern is that the next area the lines would pass through would be the water heater closet. Are there any issues with my plan? I know I need to plan for the condensation line to be sloping downward but otherwise, this seems to be my best bet. Thanks!

I don't see any issue with the line routing. Just be aware that the lines get cold, and could potentially create condensation. Make sure they're well insulated.
Do NOT run the condensate line relief valve plumbing. If the water heater ever pops that valve off, the last thing you want is boiling water and steam backing up through the condensate line and spraying everyone in the room.

If lines have to looped to shorten line length they need to be horizontal not vertical as to not trap oil.

Forget the pre charged lines and just order one that you can vary the length of the lines? You only need a vacuum pump and gauges (nitrogen for pressure check) to set the new unit up?
