That's pretty funny! I used to insulated tools for a company yeeeears ago, when they first opened. We used to test them at 10,000v for 1 min. Most could make it to 15 to 20,000.

yeah but looks like 1/3 of them ARE beat up missing factory insulation.

and the guy cant even do math. $45/11 is ~$4 each not $5

I actually texted the guy and he was all pissed off that i called him out. Told him they werent insulated.

His response was theyre obviously NOT up to their dielectric point of breakdown. Why so critical?

I told him ever heard of false advertising?

Amazing what kind of **** is out there.

They weren't even insulated tools to start with!

Klein insulated tools have ORANGE insulation

yes i know this. I have many klein "insulated" tools.

What i meant about factory insulation is the colored rubberized insulation on the grips. Not orange dielectric insulation. Notice the tap covering the missing pieces?

I was trying to decide whether the tape was because the grip was worn out or if the tape was his "insulation" over the area's that the grips don't normally cover.

I wonder if the guy knows what insulated tools really look like or if he thinks his really are insulated. All sorts of people on craigslist.

looks like both as there is tape in the spots where grips would have insulation and then the shafts are taped as well.

i wonder if he used these on 480v circuits.
