I recently purchased a manufactured garage. I'm looking for some tips on insulating the building.
Here's my setup:
2 Floor, 24'x24' Wooden garage with Duratemp siding.
2 9' insulated garage doors.
Metal Roof, Gambrel ( Barn Style )
Residential insulated door on rear.
Two windows on each side of bottom floor
Steps lead up from rear bottom to rear top.
Two windows on rear of building at top of steps
Two windows on Front of building above garage doors
Upstairs, there is about a 30 to 40 degree difference in temp how it is.
I plan on using the upstairs for my electronics workshop and general hideout along with my amateur radio station.
I do plan on heating the garage but at this point, do not plan on having AC. I'm probably going to use a woodstove to heat it.
How would one go about insulating a building of this type? I'm in the North Eastern part of West Virginia. Winters get to about 10 to 15 degrees on average ( the coldest ). The summers can reach high 90's. We live in a humid area.
I was looking a some sort of radiant barrier for the upstairs, but I'm not sure how it would be installed and would I need some other form of insulation in front of or behind it?
The downstairs is pretty easy to figure out.
