I have a scissor truss roof system and the roof itself is fully finished with vapor barriers, vents, roofing, etc. Located in upstate, NY and subject to significant temperature and humidity fluctuations. After the heater (only to be used on demand) is installed, we will be insulating the standalone garage. The lower level of the truss system will be sheathed in sheetrock to make a ceiling.
Question: Does it matter if the insulation is resting in the sheetrock of the ceiling or does it have to be closest to the roof for some reason? The roof is a 12x12 pitch and the ceiling part of the scissor truss is a 12x7 pitch. There is over 2' of space at the peak of the roof.
