In the process of figuring out what I want to do for heat/air in my pole barn before winter actually gets here. Walls are being insulated with R19 fiberglass covered by 7/16 osb. The ceiling is where I'm hung up on. My BCDL is 5 PSF.
I kind of like the idea of keeping an open ceiling because I work on a few skid steers and med duty trucks.
10' walls and regular trusses at 4' centers. Ideally yeah I'd loved to have gone taller but county code said that this is was as high as I could go. Should have gone with scissor trusses but whats done is done.
I like keeping my trusses open because I can raise the booms up on skid steers between the trusses and store a few lightweight items up there.
Other that SPRAY FOAM. Who has either put R13 or 15 between the tops of the trusses or compounded foam boards for insulation?
As of right now I'm leaning more towards the foam board insulation because in the summer a radiant barrier would help out a lot to keep the heat down.
Just trying to get an idea on who has been in similar situations and what they've done.
I'm thinking of getting a MRCOOL DIY unit probably a 24K for heat/air.
