25x22 block wall detached garage

insulated the ceiling with R19 and R5 foam board

what's the best method for insulating the block walls without loosing too much space?

I do not heat the area unless I am out in the garage working.

Im thinking like mine, the block wall is the back wall attached to the house ? its a indoor wall and heated from the inside would you benefit by insulating it if this is the case as my home .
I mean ok by insulating it you will keep the cold hitting the warm block wall (inside house) but will it help much when heating the garage during working inside ?
Is like to know myself from some pros !

Typically a block wall (like a basement) would be insulated with 2" thick sheets of XPS or PolyIso, then a 2x3 or 2x4 stud wall framed in front of that. Doing the walls this way, you'd only lose less than a foot of width across the garage, which isn't much for a 20+ foot span.

If you do use rigid foam, the only one that does not require a fire barrier is DOW Thermax.

This is why i would never build even a block knee wall on a garage. Loose to much space.
