Maybe this isn't directly garage related but Ive got my workshop in the basement currently. The exterior walls are insulated with 2" rigid insulation board up to grade level. I'd like to finish this off up to the sill plate with more 2" rigid insulation. The problem is how to cover it? If I look at the instructions for something like a stone veneer system they say not to use it on rigid insulation over 0.5". The concern is the weight of everything would bend the fasteners because they are not supported in the foam. Honestly cant see this being a problem for such a short height but I also dont want to fill the board up with lots of fasteners since that kind of defeats the purpose. Has anyone tried this?
Whatever I do here I will probably do on my garage stem walls as well just to complete the look.
