Figuring best way to insulate some extra space around my water softener pipes exiting the garage through the sheetrock. Some are copper pipes and the other is plastic. Water guys said just leave it be.

Foam? Grommets? Spackling? Open to what others have done. Been leaning towards foam at this point.

If you are just trying to close off space where it goes through the sheetrock, I would just spray some foam in there and install one of the grommets that are used on radiator pipes. A little caulk or adhesive would hold it in place. The grommets hinge open so that you can slip one around the pipe without removing anything.
