Struggling with a path. I ran pex in several rooms using plates in the basement ceiling. Works great. I put r19 insulation in the cavity leaving a little air gap between insulation and aluminum mount plates. Its an old house and i always get mice. seems they love making nests in the insulation. eventually die from poison i leave out and the stench of death wafts through the floor.
Water temp is 110.
options i see are....
spray foam. concerned about heat burning the foam?
cut 2inch insulation and try and wedge up between joists. still will have a mouse house gap and will ****
1/2 inch insulation across the bottom of the joists. lots of pipes so almost impossible.
anyone been through this and have a good solution? again old house, rubble foundation, dirt floor. mice are the constant in this equation. dog would like to eat cats so cat is out.
