Do you have vented soffit ? Is all of it vented ? I would err on the side of having too much rather than not enough ventilation for the roof/attic space. If you don't have enough ventilation, it willshorten the life of your shingles, if you are using them.

I'm not sure how there could be much difference in a styrofoam baffles, I would buy what is readily available locally.

Word of advice, don't put them in with 2" staples either. I saw that on Holmes on Holmes once and I was more baffled than the attic. ;)

Yes, use them on all if possible. NUTTSGT is correct; the added heat can decrease the life of the shingles, as well as reduce the effectiveness of the A/C on the living space below the attic.

Thanks for your question! I'm a noob and since my garage is detached, I wouldn't have even thought of it. I did blow insulation in my home's attic a few years back and remember getting the same advice them. I guess a structure is a structure, whether home or just garage!

I used 4x8 sheets of 1/2 foil-sided foam insulation board laid on their side with cut ins to fit over the joists. Held in place by 1 1/2 nails with large plastic washers. My insulator said it was the best baffle job he had seen and allowed for plenty of blown in insulation without spilling into the soffits. This methods seems to restrict the least amount of air circulation in each bay.
