So I reached out an insulation company that had done work for me before.

Asked for a fiberglass r15 and bids for open and closed foam. Here were the results:l for walls and ceiling.

Thoughts? Shed will mostly be for cigar smoking/music/some office work. Will have a portable heater and prob window AC. I’m in central IL

Don't ask.
I'd go higher than R15 in the ceiling. Fiberglass is easy to DIY. Blown in is easy in the ceiling as well but equipment rental might be a factor.
What are your plans for finishing the inside?

Doesn't hit me as bad, but if you want to save some money, this is an easy one. Faced batts and a stapler. Buying an insulation knife is nice but not necessary

The insulation company is probably thinking if someone can't insulate a small 12x16 themselves, they are going to pay premium prices to have it done.

Honestly, it's hard for me to fathom someone that is going to pay someone to insulate a shed....

Oh, I can see the elderly, wheelchair jockeys or missing limbs not want to bust out a ladder and stapler.

At that price, I'd get a handyman and keep an eye on him/her.

Yeah I get it Mike but there comes a time when you either break a sweat or write a check. . . quietly.
Oh, I get it.

Insulation is one of those things that can often cost minimally more than the supplies themselves. And if someone doesn't have a vehicle to transport the material, I wouldn't fault hiring it out, even a shed.

Agreed with DIY, but I'll also point out that the R-15 installed price of $1049 is ~50% materials and 50% labor (assuming 8' walls).

You can often get it delivered.

It is often a much better way anyway for stuff like that even if you have transportation.

If you order ahead for p/u it can also be very time consuming and frustrating at least for me.

I second to get the most reasonable R value in the ceiling.
