Curious, how flammable is fiberglass insulation ? I was just wondering about my venting. I'm using the double wall venting but I noticed where I vented up through the attic in the garage there is some rake and shake style fiberglass insulation around the venting.

Generally insulation is non-flammable.. however certain types of insulations have paper fronts which is flammable. They use fiberglass packing in exhaust pipes and fire places which gets pretty hot.

Generally fiberglass doesn't burn (any more than a Budweiser bottle would burn!) but facing can burn. Many times fiberglass is used to insulate double/triple wall metal chimney flues.

If you're worried at all replace it with Roxul fire guard. My entire house inside and out is fire rated with the product.

Peace of mind is hard to place a price tag on . . .

Fiberglass will not burn but it will melt if it gets hot enough. Before it will melt it will make some smoke from the binders or the dust reducing oil depending on if it is batt type or loose fill.
