I have a 24x30 pole barn,I have put foam board insulation on the walls and plywood over it.I was going to close of the ceiling and put insulation above it,but I really like the storage it offers me.Is there a way I can insulate just below the metal roof with foam board or another type of insulation? Also the roof has a ridge and soffit vents would these need to be closed off? I will be using a radiant tube heater...thanks..ED

We have a 30x40 pole barn, funny this thread came up...we just got done insulating the side walls with foam board and plywood. Next is the ceiling and I'm hiring a contractor who specializes in Polyurethane Spray (FOAM). It'll be 2 inches which supposedly gives you R14 so that's plenty for us as compared to nothing! I also like the fact that it seals everything up, as i'm sure all pole barn owners already know...they have a tendancy to leak depending on wind/rain/snow.
